As the original pop-up greeting card company, Up With Paper has long been known for delivering beautifully intricate, tactile experiences. But behind the scenes, their digital infrastructure told a different story. Their previous website felt outdated and was disconnected from their inventory system, requiring teams to manage sales and fulfillment manually. It was a process that slowed things down, introduced errors, and created friction across departments.

Up With Paper came to us looking for more than just a visual refresh. They needed a site that reflected the whimsy and quality of their cards—while also simplifying operations, improving speed to customer, and creating a better buying journey. The redesign needed to be strategic, separating B2C and B2B functions and laying the groundwork for long-term scalability.

We began by helping Up With Paper untangle their existing architecture, working with them to separate their B2C and B2B operations into distinct experiences. With a clearer path forward, we collaborated on a new product categorization system that would make shopping easier, and worked to restructure the site’s page hierarchy to improve both navigation and SEO.

On the design side, we created a clean, modern look that allowed the personality of their products to shine—keeping the visual tone playful, but elegant. The real game-changer, however, was behind the scenes. We developed a custom WooCommerce/Sage 100 integration that connects their real-time product data directly into their storefront. Fulfillment, sales, and design teams are now in sync, and the entire process—from browsing to buy button—is faster and more seamless.

What started as a design project quickly became a foundational shift in how Up With Paper operates online. By separating B2B and B2C paths, aligning branding with customer expectations, and simplifying fulfillment, the new site gives their team more time to focus on what they do best—bringing delight through paper engineering.
